I was saddened to read that some people were amused by the equine squatters at 22 Bath Road.
Perhaps if they could see the conditions these horses have to endure, they would not find the subject so funny.
The only access to grazing is a tiny piece of grass alongside Bath Road which is littered with cans, bottles and goodness knows what else.
A flexible, plastic coated, wire fence is all that separates them from the very busy road itself.
They have also been seen at the rear of the property and this is very dangerous for them. An outbuilding was demolished some time ago and all the resulting slabs of concrete, bricks and rubble are still in heaps where they fell. There are also wooden pallets, discarded chairs and various other items which have appeared over recent months.
Surely this situation is far from safe for these beautiful, trusting animals?
In my opinion their owner is being thoroughly irresponsible.
Many people would love to be able to keep horses but do not do so if they cannot afford to treat them humanely.
