I have recently been over from Texas on holiday visiting Swindon and there are a few things that really confuse me.
I went to see 'Steam' the Railway Museum but there was no steam, I had to go to Didcot to see an engine in steam.
So I thought I'd check out the canals, I found Canal Walk but no canal. I had to go to Devizes to see the canals.
I found enough roundabouts for the Guinness Book of Records, but no carnival. I found tents but no circus. I wanted to see historic buildings, but they have been all pulled down. I had to to go to Bath for these.
I went to the front garden but it was just muddy fields and the market sold no animals!
I went to the pub, but it was shut when I wanted a drink, so I took public transport but it had been privatised.
No polo at the polo ground, no beach at Pebbly Beach, no corn at the Corn Exchange, no links at the Link Centre.
No services at the Mission, traffic calming but no driver calming, and circles but no crops in them?
But what I did find was friendly, welcoming people and beautiful countryside.
Thank you Swindon and to my new found friends.
