FRIDAY'S Feedback column commented that the flood water level on the Front Garden has subsided quite quickly. Of course it did! There are no houses built there.

That's the whole point about flood plains; they disperse and absorb excess water and that's why they shouldn't have houses built on them. When will planners ever learn? A great many people were flooded out in other parts of the country because planners were too stupid to appreciate what happens when you build on land which is unsuitable, just like the Front Garden.

Why don't our councillors show some common sense?
