A 12-YEAR-OLD schoolgirl had a surprise when she was told she had won a competition at Bristol Zoo.
Skye Ferguson, of Bath, put her name on a Slush Puppie competition form in the summer and thought nothing more about it, until she received a call telling her she had won.
The competition was free to visitors to the gardens.
Skye said: "I had forgotten that I had entered, I was surprised when I had a phone call telling me I had won."
The Hayesfield School pupil made a return visit to the zoo to receive her prize, a colour television.
Skye said she was thrilled when she found out what she had won.
Skye's friends and family were equally impressed with her win.
Skye said: "My friends think it's cool and my family are pleased for me."
Bristol Zoo Gardens' visitor services manager Adrian Pace said the zoo was happy to join with Slush Puppie to benefit customers.
He said: "This is a great opportunity for the zoo to join together with Slush Puppie and reward customers for their loyalty."
The five runners-up in the competition were: Sophie Lightly, of Nailsea, Bethany Warfield, of Patchway, Thomas Sage, of Weston-Super-Mare and Sophie McClellan, of Chew Magna, who each received goodie bags.
Following her win, Skye said she would return to the zoo.
She said: "The zoo was really good, I will go back and I will be entering more competitions in the future."
