THE chief executive of Bath and Bristol-based drug and alcohol advisory service has announced his retirement this week.
John Teller, who joined Advice and Counselling on Alcohol and Drugs in 1969, is retiring in April.
He said: "I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to have worked for ACAD.
"It is an organisation staffed by an excellent and committed team, servicing vulnerable people."
l BATH & North East Somerset Council is launching a scheme to develop sporting talent in young people.
Three hundred sports clubs in B&NES have been invited to the launch on November 22, to discuss funding and plans for the scheme.
Judo silver medallist Kate Howey will join sports and leisure development manager Ian Munday at the event.
Mr Munday said: "We want to help develop the undiscovered talent in the area whilst offering a safe environment for youngsters."
l REPRESENTATIVES from the Bath Rugby and Bath Football Club laid wreaths at a remembrance service at Bath Abbey, last Saturday.
Len Hughes, of Bath Rugby's Old Players Association, joined Jerry Moore, of the Combination Clubs, Ian Bant and Bath Football Club Trustee representative Roger Berry.
Bath rugby's head coach John Callard gave his support to the event which the sports club considers important.
Mr Bant said: "We have a memorial stone at the club commemorating club players who gave their lives.
"It is an important day historically and we will celebrate it for the foreseeable future."
l The court hearing for the private injunction against the Bath Spa Project by opposition group the Spring Foundation was adjourned last week while the two sides began discussions.
Bath and North East Somerset council spokesman Julia Dean said a statement would follow the discussions.
She said: "There is no statement at the moment but one will be issued when the talks come to a conclusion."
The Spring Foundation has expressed concerns about the effect of development of the spring in Hotbath Street, fearing that lasting damage could occur to the spring.
