Ridgeway School pupils have won the regional heat of a national model aeroplane flying competition.
Now the school's team is frantically building more airbound models for the national heat in December.
Last year the school took 11th place but technology teacher John Musty said the boys have every chance of winning this year.
He said: " I am amazed, they are working after school and putting a lot of effort in.
"They are learning a lot and coming up with some great ideas."
The team also has to make a glider and a model helicopter.
Mr Musty is keeping the secret designs close to his chest. He said: "Let's just say I didn't see anything like it at last year's awards."
All the models have to be powered by elastic bands.
The awards are run in conjunction with British Aerospace and the British Model Flying Association.
