SWINDON TOWN boss Andy King has insisted he has not transfer-listed seven of his squad.
Reports yesterday suggested that Giuliano Grazioli, Steve Cowe, Kim Heiselberg, Fraser McHugh, Gareth Hall, Paul McAreavey and Sam Campagna had all been put on the scrapheap, but King insists that this is wide of the mark.
Their details have been sent to other clubs but King denies they have no future at the County Ground.
He said: "I can't understand all the fuss that is being made. This is a routine thing.
"I have circulated their details to other clubs to see if anyone would be interested in them, but they have not been transfer-listed.
"This sort of thing goes on every day and I get lots of circulars from other clubs coming to me. I had nine that arrived yesterday."
King admits there may be an opportunity for players to fulfil their desire for first-team football elsewhere and does not want to deny them the opportunity.
He said: "Steve Cowe has had three years playing reserve team football and is not going to learn anything by playing any more. Grazioli certainly doesn't want to be playing in the reserves, but I cannot guarantee them a place in the team.
"It will also be an opportunity to see if anyone wants to take some of the young lads on loan, but they have not been transfer-listed.
"It's something that Colin Todd did during his time here and it's a routine thing in football. He didn't make these details public, but I've got nothing to hide."
Grazioli has become a popular player with the County Ground faithful, particularly after scoring the late winner in the derby victory over Oxford, but King insists there is no need for the fans to panic.
He said: "I am not going to sell Grazioli to Reading or Oxford. We are just seeing if anyone is interested.
"Football is changing and there will be a lot of unemployed footballers again this summer.
"I will have some tough decisions to make then but the players have their futures to worry about and they need to have opportunities." King says he just wants to see who is interested in the players and see what comes from it.
He said: "We will just wait and see who comes in for them.
"They might not attract any interest, but if a situation similar to Woking coming in for Charlie Griffin comes up, I will discuss it with the chairman if and when the situation arises.
"At the moment, the only club that has shown any interest in my players is Salisbury City and none of them are going there because they are better than that."
King travelled to Banbury last night to watch FA Cup opponents Illkeston in the Dr Martens League Cup, having so far been unable to make any moves in the transfer market this week.
Mark Robinson and Sol Davis have been unable to train since picking up injuries in the 4-0 defeat at Peterborough on Saturday but a decision on their fitness will be made later in the week.
