Battling Bemerton Heath Harlequins came back from a goal down to defeat their Division Two opponents at Western Way.
FOOTBALL: Bemerton recorded a heroic victory over Football League opposition on Tuesday night when a Neil Cole double secured a thrilling 2-1 extra time win in the Wiltshire Premier Shield.
True, Swindon predominantly brought their youth team to the Western Way stadium, but nothing should detract from the never say die spirit of the Harlequins squad.
Swindon controlled the first half with some slick passing and took a deserved lead in the 20th minute through Barry Smith after excellent work from the classy Pat McAgavrey.
But the goal only seemed to spur on Harlequins and they battled their way
back into the game in the second half as Andrew Waters began to command the midfield.
In the 85th minute Cole powerfully headed home from a Jason Brice corner.
As the match went into extra time Heath found new strength and began to dominate.
The all-important winner finally came on the stroke of half time of the extra period as Brice turned provider again and slid a brilliant through ball to Cole, who rounded the keeper to finish into an empty net.
