OFFICIALS from Albania have been visiting schools to Devizes to find ways of improving their country's education system.
The visit was organised by Patney-based International Community Assist, a charity which works with organisations in Eastern Europe to help rebuild communities.
In Albania, ICA's sister organisation NpK is working to build schools and setting up resource centres where computer training can take place.
Two officials from NpK and the director of education for north west Albania, Peter Samkaj, visited Devizes school last week. They also visited Options cyber cafe in Station Road.
David James, director of ICA, said: "The visitors found how effective local schools are, they saw that they are clearly very focussed and vibrant. Their schools in north west Albania are empty shells with broken desks."
