For the second successive year, bad weather meant the annual bonfire and fireworks spectacular at Victoria Park, Salisbury, had to be rescheduled.
It was touch and go whether the event would go ahead on Saturday evening - a week late - due to torrential rain and blustery winds almost on the same scale as the deluge that led to the original being called off the previous Sunday.
In the event the rain that fell all afternoon and evening, transforming the park into a mud bath, ceased just minutes before the countdown to the firework display.
A crowd of 500, determined to get their annual firework fix no matter what, witnessed what many described as the best display ever.
