IT seems that this year's One World Week was our best yet in Calne, and we would like to thank all those who supported the week by taking part in events or by their practical assistance which was much appreciated.
Among many others, we would particularly like to mention Herta Buckeridge, her helpers and all who attended the coffee morning which raised a magnificent sum towards the cost of running the week; all the schoolchildren who entered the competitions and all who gave their old tools and sewing machines which when refurbished will provide a livelihood for a number of families in Africa and Central America.
We hope all who came along enjoyed the events and displays and found them interesting it wil certainly be a long time before memories of African dance and drumming fade away in Calne.
