Further to the Gazette article "Knitter vows to carry on" imagine the scenario, knit one, pearl one, oops I have dropped a stitch I wonder if something important was said then?
Perhaps I'll ask the person next to me, oh dear, they're asleep. Never mind, I'm sure it wasn't too important..... Sound familiar ?
It appears this could happen at a public meeting with North Wiltshire District Council.
I despair that a district council deputy leader assumes it is politically correct and viable to knit at a public meeting.
Furthermore, that reading, writing letters, talking and sleeping are considered "acceptable" behaviour at a meeting.
Does this display a professional, clear-minded, attentive attitude towards important discussions affecting the people of Wiltshire ?
Since so many people were upset and offended by the knitting does this not raise questions about its acceptability?
Surely Coun Ruth Coleman should review whether her position merits a higher degree of decorum at meetings to show greater respect to the public.
Excuse me, I have lost the thread of my letter I just need to cast off.
