YOUTH FOOTBALL
BRADFORD on Avon B and Warminster Highbury conjured up an entertaining spectacle considering the bad weather in their under 10s game in the Wiltshire Times and News Mid-Wilts Youth and Minor League.
Home full back Jim Gough was in outstanding form and the visitors hit the woodwork twice before finally succumbing 3-1 to goals from Tom Chapman, Sam Kingdom and Alex Bunting.
Calne entertained FC Chippenham A and ran out 4-1 winners, thanks to goals from Daniel Fitchen (2), Aaron Heap and John Summers. Todd Wiley and James Rustell scored for Frome Collegians in their game with Trowbridge Town A that finished all square at 2-2.
Under 11s
FROME Collegians pressed for a top two finish with a 6-2 win at Castle Combe Colts.
Ryan Child continued to dominate the Collegians' goal scoring lists with another brace. James Hounsell led the way on the day with a hat-trick and Matthew Smith completed their total. Glynn Stutt and Ross McCance replied.
Bradford on Avon won the basement battle of group A with a 6-0 win over visitors Corsham Boys. Liam Richards and Sam Jordan both scored twice, with Ben Rooney and Lewis Meillam completing the scoring.
Warminster Highbury finally overcame a dogged Trowbridge Town side and won 6-3, thanks to goals from Wayne Marchmont (3), Jay Pinnell (2) and Jake Noble.
Table toppers FC Chippenham overwhelmed basement side Melksham Park B 14-0.
Westbury Youth gained their second win of the season when they defeated a spirited Shaw and Whitley B side 4-1. Goals came from Michael Hiscock (2), Sam Baraud and Toby Dorgan, with Liam Ballinger getting the visitors' goal.
Under 12s
DESPITE only leading 2-0 at the break, Chippenham Town Rangers stepped up a gear and ran out 9-0 winners against a gallant Pewsey Vale side.
Daniel Clements led the way with four goals and was followed by Simon Lawrence (2), Sam Jones, Eddie Baldwin and William Symons.
Ross Lye scored a hat trick for Corsham Boys away to Bradford on Avon and Jamie Wales scored their fourth before Simon Mayell's consolation goal for Bradford made the final score-line 4-1.
Alex Bishop and Luke Hopper scored the all important goals for Devizes Town as they saw off the challenge of FC Chippenham, who scored through Tom Highmore.
Westbury Youth turned around a 2-1 half-time deficit against Chippenham Town with an inspired second half performance to eventually win the game 6-3.
Under 14s Blue Division
WESTBURY Youth saw Robins FC take the lead in their home game, but were back on level terms just minutes later when Sam Tucker scored from the penalty spot.
Westbury's confidence grew as the game progressed and they had taken the lead at half-time through Phil Hampton.
Although Westbury had plenty of chances throughout the game and Robins saw few shots on goal, the visitors equalised early in the second half but it was to be Westbury's day when Darren Maxwell found the back of the net to give the home side their first three points of the season so far.
Stratton Juniors move up to top slot despite taking just one point from their home game against Trowbridge Wanderers.
Stratton had a comfortable 2-0 lead, but Wanderers replied in kind and were back level at the break. Stratton regained the lead in the second half, but were denied the victory with a late equaliser from the visitors to finish all square at 3-3.
Tyrone Stevens (2) and Mark Chatwin scored for Stratton, with Lee Griffin (2) and Matt Brown replying for Wanderers.
Under 14s Red Division
BOTTOM of the table Frome Collegians held second place Amesbury Juniors to a 0-0 score line with just 15 minutes left to play when Chris O'Conner headed home from a corner to put visitors Amesbury in front.
With just three minutes left on the watch Adam Smith made a good run down the left and crossed the ball into the box and following a goalmouth scramble Simon Angell tapped in the equaliser.
Chippenham Town Youth ran out 3-0 away winners against Melksham Park, with goals from Yan Klukowski, Jamie Pollock and Goncarlo Barata.
Under 15s Blue Division
FC CHIPPENHAM were quick off the mark with a goal from James Beaven within the first 20 seconds of their home game against Devizes Town Youth.
Mark Smith doubled Chippenham's lead before Devizes got back in the game just before the break. The second half saw both sides miss chances, but a decisive goal from Rob Stephens clinched the game 3-1.
Salisbury City's good form continued with an away win against Corsham Boys. Matthew Baker (2), Lee Johnson (2) and Peter Downs scored for Salisbury in their 5-0 victory, with their defence keeping up the good work, now not having conceded a goal since October 1.
Under 17s Blue Division
DEVIZES Town Youth continue to lead this division despite going down 3-2 away to Salisbury City. James Sutton, Aaron Glover and Kevin McGuckian scored for Salisbury.
Under 17s Red Division
BRADFORD Youth fought hard in the first half against a very strong Moredon side, going in at the break just 3-0 down.
Moredon turned up the heat in the second half, scoring a further nine times to finish 12-0 victors. Sam Moore (5), Matthew Townsend (2) Carl Sheppard (2), Nick Hill, Ricky Cock and Dale Smith all scored for Moredon.
Croft Juniors remain level on points with Moredon but drop into third place on goal difference following their home win against Calne Town Youth. Calne were just 2-1 down at the break, but Croft upped the pace in the second half scoring a further two goals to finish 4-1 winners. James McCarthy (3) and Dan Mason scored for Croft.
Corsham Boys and Aldbourne Juniors were sharing the points in a hard fought but goal-less game until the 70th minute when Aldbourne broke the deadlock and took the lead then sealed their victory with a second just before the final whistle.
