THE father of Trowbridge snooker star Stephen Lee says he will stand by his son in the wake of allegations that he tested positive for marijuana at a tournament in September.
Lee, ranked number five in the world, is due to face a disciplinary committee at the headquarters of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association in Bristol today.
Lee's father Colin, who runs the Snooker Club in Silver Street, Trowbridge, said he was confident his son will be fully cleared of the allegations against him.
He said: "All his family and friends are backing him and his management too, which is very important.
"It is a matter that is being contested. He is spending much more than he stands to lose."
Lee's agent Ian Doyle also believes the snooker ace will be cleared. He said: "I am hoping that we will be able to prove that he is innocent.
"We will be submitting certain evidence and have to wait and see what the disciplinary committee's view of the evidence is. I am pretty confident that he will be exonerated."
