UNEMPLOYED Luke Leeson was caught taking a car that he was repairing out for a spin without insurance.
Leeson, 20, of Tower Road, Melksham appeared before Trowbridge magistrates for sentencing after being convicted in his absence on October 10 for driving without a licence, insurance or an MOT.
The court was told he was banned for a year on September 5 for aggravated vehicle taking.
The court was told Leeson was stopped by police at 1.20am on July 5 driving a Metro in Mortimer Street, Trowbridge.
The magistrates were told Leeson had bought the car intending to repair it and sell it on. He had taken it out to see if it was roadworthy, when he was stopped.
Magistrates banned him for three months for having no insurance, but no separate penalty was imposed for driving without a licence and MOT. He was fined £10 and ordered to pay £10 costs.
