REPORTS on the south coast suggest that Swindon are interested in taking Southampton defender Richard Dryden on a month's loan.
The 31-year-old centre-half has not featured for the Saints this season and has already been posted on loan to Town's Division Two rivals Northampton Town.
The Evening Advertiser has reported that manager Andy King is looking for new recruits after his side were thumped 4-0 by Peterborough last Saturday.
Dryden was signed by then Saints boss Graeme Souness in August 1996 but, despite playing over 50 games for Southampton, he does not feature as part of Glenn Hoddle's plans.
Dryden began his career as a trainee at Bristol Rovers and has also enjoyed spells at Exeter City, Notts County, Birmingham City and Bristol City.
The draw for the LDV Vans Trophy, previously known as the Auto Windscreens Shield, took place today (Saturday 18th November). Swindon Town have been given a bye into the second round along with local rivals Reading. Near neighbours Oxford have been drawn away to Brentford, Bristol Rovers will visit Torquay United and Bristol City are also away from home with their 1st round match against Plymouth Argyle.
