THE writing team behind a new book which celebrates a century of Swindon were on hand to sign copies of their book and share memories of the town's history.
Authors David Bedford, Brian Bridgeman, Paul Williams and Jean Allen were at a special evening signing of their book at WH Smith.
The authors, who are all members of Swindon Society, have recently had their book, A Century of Swindon has been published by Sutton.
The book will certainly evoke many memories for older members of the town particularly, who have watched it change and grow over the last 100 years.
The book, which is the ninth that Swindon Society mem-bers have had published, is on sale in book stores around the town.
It covers events like the first tram in Swindon 100 years ago, and the proud history of the town's railways.
Author Brian Bridgeman said he was pleased at the turnout: "We had all kinds of people, young and old, come to the signing.
"It was nice to see some of the younger members of the town taking an interest in its history," he said.
It was also very satisfying, he said, to see the result of all the hard work put in by the authors.
He added: "It was nice talking to the people at the signing about their own memories of Swindon, and listening to their stories."
The book is available from book stores, price £14.99.
