Screwfix: It turned out to be a week to forget for most of the local Screwfix teams, as they under-performed in games that they should have won.
Devizes Town were the only local side to record a victory, when they beat Brislington 2-1 in the Premier on Saturday.
Goals from Barry Flippance and Nathan Sheridan helped Brian Newlands' side see off their Bristol-based rivals.
Newlands said "I was delighted because we had to get the job done, and we did.
"It wasn't easy because of the heavy pitch conditions, so we had to put in a very workman-like performance.
"It was a very open game, and there was surprisingly little to choose between the two sides. A draw would have been a fair result, but we just got the deciding goal."
Brislington did score the opening goal of the game, but that only seemed to jump-start the Devizes performance.
Two fine goals from crosses, the first a header and the second a first-time shot, secured the win for Town.
Newlands also felt relieved that his team had put Tuesday's 4-1 defeat to Frome Town firmly behind them.
"They were much the better side on the day, but we should have beaten them quite easily on paper.
"They are a division below us, and we were all very disappointed with the result. It just goes to show that football is never played on paper."
His side face Barnstaple in the Premier next Saturday.
Elsewhere, in the second round of the FA Carlsberg Vase, an atrocious first- half performance cost Melksham Town the game when they lost 2-1 to Porthleven.
Town started extremely poorly, and conceded two goals in the first period. From then on they always had a mountain to climb, and struggled to put vital chances away.
They did grab a consolation goal through centre-half Gary Burns, but it was all too little, too late.
Manager Robbie Lardner will be hoping that his side can raise their performance next week, when his team play Bridgwater in the Premier next Saturday.
Warminster Town also bowed out of the FA Vase competition on Saturday, when they lost 3-1 to Falmouth Town.
In the First Division, Calne Town lost 3-1 to Wellington after conceding three goals in the opening 20 minutes.
Their defensive ineptitude was highlighted by some skillful Wellington offensives, and their cause was not helped when Phil Penning was sent off for two book-able offenses.
The Calne goal came through the boot of Toby Colbourne, as his cross-turned-shot sneaked past the Wellington goalkeeper.
