Would-be authors are being asked to write a short story about a train journey in a First Great Western competition.
The writing competition has been organised to celebrate the launch of a new £80m fleet of trains.
There is less than a month to go but First Great Western say 15 per cent of the entries they have already received have come from writers in Swindon.
Public relations manager Elaine Wilde said she would still like to see a lot more.
"The winners will have their stories compiled into a booklet which will be included in our family carriage activity packs, giving them the chance to have their work read by hundreds of people," she said.
Two winners will get the chance to name a train and attend a VIP ceremony.
They will also receive £100 worth of book tokens.
Anyone who wishes to enter should submit their story before December 18. More information can be found on website www.equinox-pr.co.uk.
