THIS week, Swindon Borough Council votes to decide whether to concrete over our town's Front Garden.
Swindon, is a great town but not a pretty one. So ruining one of its most attractive areas visible to all passing on the M4 seems a little foolish for a prosperous town with an image problem.
The destruction of the Front Garden will be permanent. It would be fitting if those responsible for the desecration were remembered for all time. Perhaps the best way to achieve this is to recognise the guilty people in the name of the new development. My poor imagination can only come up with names like Bates' Basin or Labour Lagoon to reflect the liability of the area to flood. But I'm sure some of your readers could come up with better suggestions.
