Wilts Senior Cup and Skurrays Wilts League: Wilts League side Wroughton almost caused an upset in the Wilts Senior Cup against Screwfix side Pewsey Vale, now managed by Swindon Town favourite Don Rogers.
The Swindon side held their visitors to a goalless draw after extra time, but lost 3-2 in the penalty shoot-out.
Wootton Bassett booked a place in the second round after a comfortable 6-0 victory over Hampshire League side Amesbury Town.
In a scrappy first 45 minutes, Lee Stoddart finally gave Bassett the lead ten minutes before the break.
The half-time cuppa then worked wonders for the home side who completely dominated the second half and added five more goals courtesy of Richard Merchant, Lee Marshall, Mickey Goodwin and Nathan Hall (2), the latter spoiling a good performance by being sent off in the last five minutes.
Goals from Rob Broadbank, Martin Dunn and Rick Casey gave Stratton Crosslink a 3-0 win over visitors Bradford Town, and Shrewton Utd ensured a place in the draw for the second round with a 5-0 away win over Aldbourne. Dean Foot (3), Jessie Walters and Anton Brownless were on target for United.
Trowbridge Town trailed 2-0 against Corsham after strikes from Rob Humphreys and Chris Weeks, and then shot themselves in the foot by having a player sent off. The ten men were no match for the Screwfix League side who scored further goals from Weeks, James Griffin and Simon Bray to run out comfortable 5-1 winners, Neil Kirkpatrick scoring a consolation goal for the Wilts League side.
In the Skurrays Wiltshire League, just three matches were scheduled in the Premier Division, league leaders Devizes Town Reserves surprisingly being beaten 3-2 on their own ground by Warminster Town Reserves.
Devizes took an early lead through Lee Davis, Warminster equalising from a penalty by Gary Lewis. His first effort was well stopped by Devizes keeper Jim Flippance but Lewis hit in the rebound.
John Hargreaves and Graham Russell added further goals for Warminster before substitute Ashton Turner pulled a goal back to ensure an exciting end to the game.
A second half goal from Frankie Rogers gave Corsham Town Reserves a 1-0 win over Malmesbury Vics Reserves, the three points moving them off the foot of the table.
Pewsey Vale Reserves and Westbury United Reserves both failed to find the net in their dour encounter.
In the intermediate section, an own goal by Rob Compton enabled Burmah Castrol to run out 1-0 winners against Dunbar Westside.
Wanborough United and Stratton Crosslink drew 1-1, Paul Starkey scoring for United and Mark Richens hitting a penalty for Crosslink.
In an exciting ten-goal thriller at Biddestone, the home side and Blunsdon United shared the points in a 5-5 draw.
Mark Pearce (2), Tony Kerwick (2) and Alan Farnish for Biddestone, and Mark Hammond (2), Craig Green, Mark Gunter and Justin Twitchett for United.
Cricklade Town Reserves beat neighbours Down Ampney 3-0 in the Plaisters Auto Intermediate Cup, James Richards scoring a first minute goal, Chris Evans scoring a goal at the wrong end and Richards netting again in the last five minutes. Ampney keeper Dexter Schofield saved his side from heavier defeat with a string of excellent saves.
Division One leaders Wroughton Reserves made up for their senior side's disappointment by running out winners at Marlborough by the day's highest 11-0.
Ian Pickering (3), Paul Bowden (3), Steve Westall (2), Stuart Temple, Mark Love and Glenn Armstrong the scorers.
Second placed Ashton Keynes kept in touch with a 4-0 win over Burmah Castrol Reserves through Richard Blankley (3) and Martin Jackson.
Ferndale Rodbourne scored a 3-2 win over Minety.
In Division Two, Bromham won 8-2 at Down Ampney, while Blunsdon Utd Reserves and Purton A drew 2-2.
Dunbar Westside Reserves gained a 5-1 success over Marshfield, while Wootton Bassett United gained a 4-1 victory over Wanborough United Reserves in the second round of the Fountain Trophies Junior Cup .
