A meeting outlining the latest thinking on genetically modified crops will be held in Swin- don tomorrow.
The meeting, which starts at 5.30pm, is part of a series of debates and talks arranged to mark the formation of the town's university.
The University of Bath at Swindon has arranged for its professor of plant biology, Graham Henshaw, to give a talk in the upper rooms of the Savoy pub in Regent Street.
Prof Henshaw is at the forefront of research into the issue and has worked at the university since 1981.
Before taking up his post at Bath, he worked at the Univer-sity of Birmingham and the College of Swansea, having obtained his doctorate at the University of Liverpool in 1960.
The speech Prof Henshaw will present is called GM Crops, Opportunity or Threat, and is the final event in the university's Gulp lectures, part of the General University Program-me.
