IF you want to be a record breaker, go to Nightingale Wood on Sunday and plant some trees.
The Great Western Community Forest is taking part in a national attempt by the Tree Council to set a new Guinness world record for tree planting.
Swindon's part in the national record breaking attempt will be staged at Nightingale Wood, where there will be 2,000 trees available for people to plant.
The wood, on the outskirts of South Marston, has recently been transformed to become an open woodland and wetland area, thanks to a partnership between the Forest Enterprise, the Environ- ment Agency, Swindon Borough Council and South Marston Parish Council.
On Sunday there will also be attractions including children's workshops, displays and live entertainment at the Roves Farm Visitors' Centre, attached to the wood.
The whole event is being sponsored by Honda, to help make the day accessible and affordable to as many people as possible.
The tree planting will be from 10am to 3pm.
