SAINTS defender Richard Dryden was due to start training with his new Town team-mates yesterday morning (Tuesday, November 21) with boss Andy King promising more new faces to come.
King has revealed to the Evening Advertiser that he has two trialists coming in this week after deciding not to take on a Spaniard and a Norwegian last week.
The Town boss also travelled to Southern Ireland last week to watch four possible targets and admits two of them caught his eye.
King is delighted to have Dryden and said he would continue to look for new players.
"He is a Premiership footballer who has a lot of experience at that level," said King.
"If he proves to be the best player in that position during training then he will play on Saturday against Stoke.
"We are looking for players who will make a difference to the side. I had a good trip to Ireland last week and saw four players. Two of them will go on that much-talked-about shopping list. I will be looking both home and abroad, but it is tough to get English players.
"Even if I had eight million to spend, we still have to attract players to a struggling Second Division club."
King must decide on whether or not to buy Australian utility man Mark Robertson. His loan spell is up at the end of the month but the decision on whether to keep him could hinge on Town paying a fee.
