Calne dad Justin Oliver is to set up a regular car bootsale in Calne to raise money for the hospital where his daughter Shannon was treated for septicaemia.
In August Shannon, who is now seven months old, was cared for at the Thames children's unit at Swindon's Princess Margaret Hospital.
Mr Oliver, 34, was so impressed by the unit he wanted to offer them something in return, and he has been given the go-ahead by Calne Town Council to organise a weekly bootsale.
Doctors believe Shannon, who is having ongoing tests at the hospital and could be on medication for as long as four years, contracted the disease through a urine infection.
Mr Oliver, of Corfe Crescent, said: "Septicaemia is one step down from meningitis and if it hadn't been treated quickly it could have been a life or death situation."
He added: "It will be nice to be able to give something back to the hospital."
The first of the sales will be held at The Pippin on Sunday from 10am to 2pm and they will carry on until Christmas, with the situation being reviewed in the New Year.
