More than 50 ex-pupils of Wootton Bassett School more than half the intake of 1961 were joined by seven of their former teachers for a reunion on Saturday.
"It was absolutely fantastic," said Joe Gardner, who taught history, English and PE in those days, and is still a supply teacher at the school. Also at the reunion were former RE teacher Brian Earl, home economics teachers Judy London and Mrs Trotman, and English teachers Ken Gore and David Rees, who went along to greet their ex-pupils, now all aged 50.
A display of memorabilia featured a photograph of a 1963 Speech Day in the assembly hall. "Enlargements of various sections of the audience made interesting viewing," said Mr Gardner.
The star prize in a raffle was a cartoon of Mr King, drawn by Melvyn Wright, one of the ex-pupils present. It was won by Alison Cox (now Mrs Holland) who lives near Bath. "It was a brilliant evening," she said.
The reunion was organised by Chris Pocock and a committee, whose efforts sparked such enthusiasm a summer outing for the group is being mooted. "It's been great to see everyone and we've got to keep this going," he said.
