The heroics of the Devizes Town goalkeeper kept the score down against a very good Shaw and Whitley side, who gained an easy victory by 6-0.
Melksham Park entertained FC Chippenham and finished on the wrong end of a five goal thriller. Daniel Lovett and Andrew Donald scored for the home side, but that was not enough to stop their visitors progressing to the next round with goals from Craig Fisher (2) and William Fisher.
Two goals in each half from Chippenham saw off the challenge from Westbury Youth in a game that was sportingly contested from start to finish.
Under 12s
MELKSHAM Park and FC Chippenham were so evenly matched it took extra-time to sort out a winner.

In what was probably the tie of the round, Chippenham Town and Stratton Juniors went to the wire before a winner was decided. Chris Cox scored twice to give Chippenham a 2-0 half time lead and Ryan O'Hara and Tim Hall scored in the second period to take the game into extra-time. This failed to produce a winner and Stratton managed to keep their nerve in the penalty shoot-out to win 4-1.

However, the Highbury goalkeeper won the man-of-the-match vote from the Chippenham manager Phil Young. Adam Gainey (3), Aaron Merryweather (2), Daniel Young (2), Chris Beasley and Philip Baker (penalty) scored for Chippenham.
Due to the withdrawal of Bradford and Lavington from the under 14s, only seven teams were due to go through to the quarter finals. The league decided that rather than give one of the seven a bye into the semi-finals they would choose a lucky loser from the seven that did not qualify just as the Football Association did last season when Manchester United withdrew from the FA Cup, resulting in Darlington qualifying. The draw for the semi-finals took place on Tuesday and the lucky loser pulled out of the hat were South Newton and Wishford.
Under 15s League Cup
DEVIZES Town Youth gave visitors Croft Juniors a very good game in the first half, with Croft taking a 1-0 lead at the break.
The second half saw Croft double their lead early on and Devizes missing their chances of getting back in the game and with a third from Croft their victory was secured along with their place in the next round.
Lavington Boys battled on to the final whistle in their home tie against Warminster Dynamos, with the visitors taking a convincing 4-1 lead at the interval. The second half saw a much closer game, with the visitors winning that by just 2-1 to one to leave the final score at 6-2 to Dynamos.
Calne took the play to visitors Corsham Boys with some good passing and movement and despite conceding a second goal in the 35th minute from a chip, Calne had most of the possession in the first half and were very unlucky to go in 2-0 down at half time.
Corsham dominated much of the second half, scoring three times within 20 minutes of the re-start. Despite Corsham's undoubted ability, Calne continued to attack and forced several great saves from Corsham's goalkeeper. A moment of controversy arose when no one could tell if the ball had crossed Corsham's goal line. Corsham's experience stood out with an 8-0 final score line.
FC Chippenham 2nds gave last season's cup winners Trowbridge Town Youth a run for their money in the first half, keeping them at bay and going in all square at 0-0. Five minutes into the second half Ricky Hulbert tapped one in for the home side, following a goalmouth scramble. Trowbridge were in control for the remainder of the tie and finished 6-0 winners. Lee Anteney, Adam Phillips and a hat-trick for Liam Phillimore completed the scoring.
Under 17s league Cup
THE closest tie in this division was played out between Marlborough Town and Melksham Park.
Marlborough were very quick off the mark, taking the lead through Tom Mildenhall in the first minute. The game then continued on a nail-biting but very even keel until the last five minutes of normal time when Marlborough were cruising to their place in the next round, only for Ryan Cross to hit the target for Melksham, sending the game into extra-time. The 20 minutes of extra-time failed to produce a winner so the boys lined up for a penalty shoot-out which resulted in Melksham taking their place in the quarter finals by 4-3.
Peter Huntley gave home side Lavington Boys the lead after 30 minutes in their game against Bath City, who hit back to run out 6-1 winners.
Following a very close first half between home side Aldbourne Juniors and Calne Town Youth, Aldbourne took a 1-0 lead at the interval. Aldbourne increased their lead to 3-1 before Calne got on the score sheet but it was too little too late for the visitors and with a further two for the home side Aldbourne's place in the next round was assured. Andy Wells (2), Andy Willis, John Birchill and Liam Hectar scored for Aldbourne.
