The weather has played its usual destructive role this week, with all but two of the local Screwfix teams having their fixtures called off.
Those that did manage to play probably wish they hadn't. Pewsey Vale, Division 1's bottom team, lost 3-0 at Ilfracombe, and Corsham Town were thumped 6-2 at Bath.
Pewsey were full of confidence when they travelled to North Devon to face Ilfracombe, a team only six places above them in the league.
However, they travelled back up the M5 cold, wet and disappointed after struggling to string together any spells of decent football all game.
Newly appointed manager and former Swindon Town star Don Rogers said: "I really thought we could go there and get something out of the game.
"They were no better than us, and we certainly weren't as outplayed as the scoreline suggests. Neither side played well, but they just seemed to have the luck."
The game was played in less than perfect playing conditions, to put it mildly. Driving rain and blustery winds meant both sides found it difficult to play on an otherwise excellent surface.
Pewsey had three first choice players missing, but Rogers revealed that he was planning to complete transfers of three or four players over the weekend.
His side travelled to league contenders Hallen on Tuesday where they had no more luck.
They were outplayed by a well-drilled side, and even two somewhat comical goals from Colin Yates could not prevent them from losing 4-2.
Rogers said: "Although it was 2-2 at half-time, they were much the better side. We played well but they were just better."
Have won only once in the last 13 games, his side are already looking firm favourites to be relegated come May, but Rogers remains optimistic.
"There's still enough time to turn it around the lads just need some time to gel properly. We can still do it," he said, "but it is going to take a lot of hard work."
Elsewhere in Division 1, Corsham Town lost 6-2 to the Bath City Reserves.
Corsham were 2-1 up just minutes before half-time, with goals from Dave Kilmurray and Rob Humphries, before Bath equalised and then ran away with it in the second half.
Chairman Colin Hudd said: "They were a good side, but we could have done better.
"The results haven't been going our way recently, and we're going to have to turn things around quickly if we're going to stay in the division."
