South Swindon MP Julia Drown has written to Stagecoach to complain about the quality of bus services.

Ms Drown has called on the regional managing director of Stagecoach, Malcolm Howitt, to rectify the situation urgently.

She said: "My constituents are very angry and extremely disappointed by the service Stagecoach is providing for Wroughton and the number eight route to Toothill.

"When complaints have been made in the past the service has improved for a few weeks and then returns to an unpredictable pattern.

"When people depend on the bus to get to work in the morning this kind of service is unacceptable. I have asked Stagecoach to consider compensation for those who have been inconvenienced.

"Given the complaints received from my constituents, I have also written to the traffic commissioner with a request that she investigates the poor quality service provided by Stagecoach."

No one from Stagecoach was available to comment.
