Once again our popular village store (Pavenhill News, in Purton) was subjected to an overnight raid.

This is the second time in a few weeks that this store has been subjected to this kind of misdemeanour and, once again, the police have not been close enough to hand to be able to officiate as one would expect.

It is possibly not the fault generally of the constabulary, it is through things like lack of resources, manpower, finance etc.

Our local store owners have built up this business over many years and have allotted opening hours to suit our personal needs and work extremely hard. They are friendly, considerate and very helpful and never lacking in humour.

Why is it that they have to be subjected to this sort of abuse and the ensuing problems of repairs, insurance, and replacement of fittings, stock etc, because of the morons that roam our districts to perpetrate this type of action, generally knowing that they will not be caught.

These sort of scum work fast and it would be very difficult to catch them in the act, but it is now the time to vehemently pursue the cause for the protection of all persons, property and effects as we have never done before.

Our society reeks of too much comfort for criminals and far too many do-gooders trying to make us all feel ashamed for seeking real justice.

There are those that think nothing of attacking the elderly and infirm and even the disabled.

Time now for some definitive action from Government bodies, and soon.
