A transatlantic voyage has proved the catalyst for the first ever reunion of pupils from a Swindon school.
It's being organised for people who were in the seniors at Pinehurst School between the years 1958 and 1962/63.
Swindon born George Dykas, who now lives in Montreal, Canada, recently came home to visit his old school pals.
After his visit they decided it was time to get in touch with their old friends and the idea of a reunion was born.
The four friends set about tracing their former classmates using the phone book and the internet.
Now more than 100 former pupils are already planning to attend the get together on March 24 next year, and it is hoped that at least 150 people will make the party.
The reunion is set to be held at the Moonrakers pub, Stratton Crossroads, starting at 8pm.
Anyone who has not yet been contacted can get in touch with Graham Barrett on 726497, Steve Everitt on 335507, Alan Bridges on 538378 or Michael Wiltshire on 729719.
