SECTIONS of the County Ground crowd who are booing Town players have been told they are not helping the club's plight.

Defender Mark Robinson and midfielder Bobby Howe were subjected to a chorus of displeasure from home supporters before and during Saturday's defeat with Stoke.

And while manager Andy King understands that supporters are frustrated with the team's performances, he says it will do no good jumping on the backs of players.

"I do not see any benefit in supporters booing their own players," said King. "It just does not make any sense. All it does is put more pressure on the players in question.

"Robbo and Bobby say they were not affected by the fans on Saturday but I believe their performances were affected subconsciously. The players need to feel confident."
