IAN WOAN has signed a deal that will keep him at the County Ground until the end of the season, but Aussie Mark Robertson has been told he can leave.
Manager Andy King had mixed emotions yesterday after yet another busy day on the transfer roller-coaster.
His disappointment at not being able to secure any of six targets was tempered by the signing of midfielder Woan, but he was also gutted at having to say goodbye to Robertson.
"I am delighted that Ian Woan has signed up for the remainder of the season because I feel his attitude and his quality has been outstanding since he came to the club," said King. "There is a chance that, if he keeps on playing like he is at the moment, he will stay for even longer.
"It was tough to tell Robbo that he was not staying. There was a fee of £50,000 but that was not the reason why I did not keep him."
Fellow Australian Clayton Zane, who was on trial at the club last week, has also been released.
