The opening chapters of Michael Scott's autobiography are a shocking, but sadly typical, description of an alcoholic's downward slide.
But Michael's story is one of hope, and an example to anyone struggling to come to terms with the same problem that it can be done and you can rebuild your life.
Michael's rehabilitation has led him to Peru, where he now lives with a local family in Cusco and is accepted as a Peruvian.
Not everyone needs to go to the other side of the world to escape their demons.
But it has obviously worked for Michael Scott. We commend his courage.
