DERRY Hill Primary School has been given a gold award from Wiltshire Wildlife Trust for collecting ten tonnes of paper for recycling.
The school was one of five in Wiltshire to be presented with a certificate last week.
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust's education officer Matthew Bunt said: "Through the commitment shown by these schools 50 tonnes of paper has been collected, enough to fill five of the huge, six-wheeler dustcarts."
Across the county 70 schools are involved with the trust's Schools Recycling Scheme, in partnership with Hills Waste. At the presentation, the Waste Warrior Viking talked to pupils.
The other schools to receive certificates were Frogwell School in Chippenham, Alderbury and West Grinstead Primary School, and Wootton Bassett and Broad Town Primary Schools.
