COUNCIL bosses are turning to the people for ideas on the future of the former Goldiggers nightclub building in Chippenham.
Exhibitions and a special questionnaire will be launched on Monday so residents across the district can help decide what to do with the Art Deco style former Gaumont cinema in building in Timber Street, which is owned by North Wiltshire District Council.
After the club closed earlier this year residents were concerned the building could be demolished and replaced with housing, which prompted a campaign to convert the Gaumont into an art centre.
Now people will be able to add their own views, filling in the questionnaire that lists possible uses for the building, or for the land, if feedback indicates the site should be sold.
The consultation runs from Monday until December 21 at supermarkets, libraries, information points, leisure centres, schools, Wiltshire College and council offices. People can also air their views via the district council's website at: www.northwilts.gov.uk
The council's executive committee will discuss the feedback in January.
What do you think should happen to Goldiggers?
