The torrential rain that swept across the south-west on Saturday, November 25, again caused major disruption to the Salisbury area's football programme.
Just two of the ten matches involving our senior sides were playable as the downpour wreaked havoc with an already congested fixture list.
Salisbury City's home game with King's Lynn - whose players had already made the 250-plus mile journey to Old Sarum - was called off following a pitch inspection at 2pm after club officials had battled against the morning deluge in a bid to get the fixture played.
It was only the second time a first team match had been postponed in the Raymond McEnhill Stadium's history.
Appropriately, given the conditions, Steve Slade's Bemerton Heath Harlequins side were due to take on Portsmouth Royal Navy at Western Way, but that game also fell foul of the rain.
Slade's outfit are now ten games behind schedule and the number of Jewson Wessex League fixtures to be rescheduled is approaching the 200 mark.
