YET another Skurray's Wiltshire League programme was ruined by waterlogged grounds, with just eight games surviving the soggy conditions.

Wiltshire League fixture secretary Philip Cook said: "Despite all the recent postponed games, with the usual help and cooperation from the clubs I am sure we will get through the backlog of fixtures."

In the Premier Division officials at Bradford Town's ground worked hard to get the pitch playable, but the team let them down by losing 3-1 to visitors Aldbourne.

Jason Ritchie got the home side off to a good start, converting a cross after just four minutes.

Visitors Aldbourne struck back to equalise, Steve Eade deflecting a goal bound shot by Pete Orsi into his own net. Just before the break Darryl Mason added a second after good work by Russell Hunt. Aldbourne added a third through Mark Bennett who broke free to slot past the goalkeeper.

Shrewton United moved up to second spot in the table after a 4-1 home victory over Malmesbury Vics Reserves.

The home side started well and Lee Corbin put them in front after just five minutes. Shrewton were then awarded a penalty when Dean Foot was brought down in the box and Jessie Walters netted from the spot.

A good run and cross by Micky Ball was met by Dean Foot who added a third.

Soon after the restart Malmesbury pulled a goal back when a poor clearance fell to Alan Webb who scored from close range. After several misses United added a fourth when Foot was once again upended in the box and Jessie Walters netted his second penalty.

In the Intermediate Division Cricklade Town Reserves beat Mitel by 4-0, thanks to goals from Steve Avenell (2), Darren King and substitute Ian Ross.

In Junior Division One leaders Wroughton Reserves beat West Swindon by 7-2 to bring their goals for tally to 61 from 12 games.

Wroughton's top marksman Glenn Armstrong put his side into an early lead , Simon Lowe adding a second shortly after. A good cross just before the break was headed into the net by Steve Westall to give Wroughton a 3-0 interval lead.

Two more goals from Armstrong soon after the restart chalked up yet another hat-trick for the Wroughton striker and Paul Bowden headed two more in the closing stages. Steve Cumper and Derrick Northwood scored for West Swindon.

Second in the table Ashton Keynes kept the leaders in their sights with a 4-3 win over Ferndale Rodbourne. A goal down after just a couple of minutes Ashton Keynes fought back to lead 3-1 at the break, with strikes from Simon Hayes, Dave Cook, who shot over a defensive wall from a free kick, and Martin Curtis, who netted from close range.

Midway through the second half Curtis added a fourth before a late rally by the visitors, who pulled two goals back to ensure an uncomfortable last few minutes for Ashton. Richard Saxby, Terry Bown and Robert Griffin netted for Ferndale.

Sherston gained a 4-1 away success over Burmah Castrol despite being outplayed in the first 45 minutes. John Sansum netted for Burmah and Neil Weedon equalised for Sherston.

Marshfield gained a 3-2 victory over Down Ampney Reserves in Junior Division Two. A cross-cum-shot by Russell Lodge put Marshfield in the lead and Andy Jefferies converted a cross from Lodge to add a second before the break.

Ampney fought back after the interval to draw level with two goals from Mick Stevenson, one from the penalty spot, but Marshfield scored the winner a couple of minutes later Richard Lock netting from another good cross by Lodge.
