TWO goals from Steve Cowe helped Town Reserves to a comfortable 4-2 win over Luton at the County Ground yesterday (Wednesday, November 29).
A strong Swindon side, which included four of Colin Todd's summer signings, took the lead in the 13th minute.
David Duke sent in a pinpoint cross and Cowe was on hand to head home unchallenged from six yards.
Town keeper Steve Mildenhall saw little of the ball in the first half and it was no surprise when Town went two ahead, ten minutes after the break.
Cowe robbed the ball from Jude Sterling as the Luton left back dithered on the edge of his own box and the striker's cross beat the Hatters' keeper Mark Ovendale via a deflection.
Town threw Antoine van der Linden up front for the last quarter and, after his shot was saved, substitute James Williams was able to scramble the ball home.
Luton replied with a goal from Andre Scarlett but Town made sure of the points with a fourth from Frazer McHugh with only five minutes remaining.
A late strike from Luton's Andrew Fotiades proved to be little consolation for the visitors.
Town's youngsters are out of the FA Youth Cup after losing 2-1 in the third round at Bolton.
