I'm writing about the changes at BBC Wiltshire Sound.

Spending most of my time at home, I have always enjoyed listening to the radio; in fact I hardly watch television, but I must say that for the first time in many years I have now turned my two radios off! My house is quiet during the day. My weekends in particular are not the same since the programmes were changed. The new shows are a real turn-off.

I really don't like the style of Sandy Martin and I can't listen to him for four hours at a time. Emma Cooper was better before an extra hour was added to her programme.

New weekday programmes are not interesting. I preferred James Harrison. Where is he?

David Lowe has a nostalgia programme I do enjoy on Saturday evenings. Trevor Fry (late nights from Bristol) is a very good listen.

But where is Shirley Ludford? I can listen to her voice easily and I really enjoyed her programmes.

Her style was great and she made me feel I was part of the interviews she did and that I was at the places she was visiting and describing. She is a real loss.

I loved her request show and don't understand why she has been taken off presenting. Does the new manager have a problem with popular females?

Why bring in presenters who don't know the area?

I hear Shirley is compering the School Choirs competition at the Designer Village again on December 10.

It is a real shame it won't be on the radio like last year. But I shall be getting a lift to the shopping village to see Shirley and hear the children sing.

I do not think splitting the county up has benefited anyone. I liked hearing about other parts of the county I live in.

I read a letter in the Adver from a gentleman who said he was "Unimpressed of Swindon". I am "Very Unimpressed of Highworth".
