AS YET another year comes to an end for Dilton Marsh Carnival, I would like to express my thanks, through your newspaper, to all those people who helped to make it such a success.
Firstly, to the very dedicated and hardworking committee who gave so much of their time throughout the year. Only those who have worked on a carnival committee can appreciate the commitment and energy needed to keep going. Then there are the very willing helpers, without whom it would be impossible to stage the events. We also received a grant from the Awards for All Lottery Scheme which enabled us to provide marquees, entertainment and a senior citizens outing to Bournemouth.
Finally, I would like to thank the people of Dilton Marsh for taking part in and supporting the procession and and events on the field. Seeing so many people enjoying themselves made it all worthwhile. I believe it is the best village carnival for many a mile.
DENNIS DAVISON,
Chairman,
Dilton Marsh Carnival 2000.
