TROWBRIDGE Town are facing an injury crisis ahead of tomorrow's eagerly awaited Skurray's Wiltshire League Premier Division derby at Bradford Town.

It is the first time for nearly 50 years that the sides have met in a league fixture, and a large crowd is expected as Alan Roberts takes his team to the club he formerly managed.

"It's a massive game, and everyone's making a lot of it," said Roberts. "But at the end of the day it's just another game of football.

"If we win it would be fantastic, but all I can ask is for my players to do their best and do themselves justice. If they come off the pitch saying they've done their best, even if they lose, I'll be happy," he added.

Bradford start as favourites on paper, but like any derby, it promises to be fiercely contested by both sides.

"There is plenty of pride at stake for both sides, admitted Roberts.

"We'll give it our best shot. You're only as good as your last result, so if we win this we'll be delighted."

Trowbridge's season continues to be blighted by injuries and they could be without as many as eight senior players for the local derby, and this kind of crisis has had its toll on the team, said Roberts.

"The injury list has been catastrophic all season," he said.

"With a fully fit side, we wouldn't win the league because we're not good enough, but we'd give any team in the league a run for their money."

The match is expected to attract the biggest crowd in the Wiltshire League this season.
