YOUTH FOOTBALL
DESPITE the atrocious weather conditions, Devizes Town travelled to Trowbridge for their under 11s division game in the Wiltshire Times and News Mid-Wilts Youth and Minor League.
The hosts held the upper hand for the majority of the game and won 5-1, with goals from Kieran Fereday (2), Scott Cunningham-Phillips (2) and a stunning free kick from Thomas Parr. The visitors' only reply came from Aaron Rowles.
Westbury Youth continued their recent good run with an emphatic 7-1 away win at Melksham Park B. Goals came at regular intervals from Toby Dorgan, Michael Hiscock, James Brunning, Robert Young, Charlie Snelling and Luke Mortimer (2), with Joseph Scott scoring for the hosts.
Bradford on Avon travelled to Warminster Highbury and emerged from a highly entertaining game as 4-3 winners. Liam Richards (2), Sam Jordan and Daniel Fowler scored for the visitors, with Chris Yates (2) and Charlie Harris replying.
Shaw and Whitley A continued their surge to complete the section with a 100 per cent record when they beat leaders Frome Collegians 10-1.
Goals came from Sean Benison (3), Mike Smith (2), James Harrison (2), Sam Brown, Lawrence Jackson and Miles Robinson.
Chippenham Town ran riot against Castle Combe Colts and won 12-0. Joseph White led the goal scoring with five goals and Liam Brown (2), Tom Needham (2), Simon Roberts (2) and Jamie Padgett completed the scoring.
Shaw and Whitley B took the lead through Joe Flower in their game with Trowbridge Wanderers and Rob Manning scored a second as the sides went into the break at 2-2. Three more goals in the second period gave the visitors a 5-2 win in a match that was played in horrendous conditions, with both sides deserving every praise for their commitment.
Under 10s
WHITE Horse Juniors and Robins shared the spoils in a six-goal thriller at Calne in the under 10s division.
Home goals came from Craig Berry (2) and Craig Ewles.
Bradford on Avon returned from their trip to Chippenham Town Rangers in a victorious manner after winning 5-0.
Under 12s
DAN Croker continued his goal scoring exploits with another three goals as Warminster Highbury beat Trowbridge FC 6-2.
Steve Lisowski, Scott Laird and Chris Ellis scored the others and Kieran Stone struck both for the visitors.
An 11-goal thriller at Melksham Park saw the home side finally overcome Bradford on Avon 7-4, with goals from Danny Kovacs (5), Danny Barnett and Jonathan Lux.
Chris Cox and Nathan Phillimore both scored hat-tricks as Chippenham Town beat Calne 8-0 away from home. John McInally scored the other two goals as the visitors controlled matters their own way.
FC Chippenham and Corsham Boys shared the points and the goals in an eight-goal thriller. Tom Highmore (2), Adam Johnson and Will Fisher scored for the hosts, with Darryl Bowden (2), Jamie Moss and Nick Inglis scoring for the visitors.
Under 13s
CHIPPENHAM Town Rangers won their bottom of the table clash at Westinghouse B by 5-1, with goals from Ben Thomas (3), Jason Tiley, Daniel Pratt and Fabian Prangle. Daniel Webb scored the hosts' consolation goal.
Corsham Boys just got the better of Melksham Park in a nine-goal thriller at Leafy Lane. Nathan Ingall (2), Fraser Shaw-Morris (2) and Matthew Ralph scored for the hosts, with Nick Ridout (2) and Graham Griffiths (2) scoring for a gallant Melksham Park side.
Under 13s Cup
CALNE Colts entertained FC Chippenham in a league cup game delayed for a week because of county cup games and found themselves party to a really entertaining game of football.
The two evenly matched sides could not be separated at full time or after extra-time and everything hinged on a penalty shoot-out.
Marcus Neale (2), Darren Holcombe (2) and Robert Kelty scored prior to the penalties, with Warren Allison (2) and Lloyd Wilshire (3) scoring for FC Chippenham. The penalty shoot-out went to 5-5 before Calne Colts' Will Snowdon scored the all important spot kick to send his team through to the quarter finals.
Under 14s Blue Division
ONLY one game in this division survived the elements, that between Devizes Town Youth and Westbury Youth.
Devizes took last season's champions Westbury to the last nine minutes leading by 2-1 when home side Westbury scored a second and decisive goal. With the game level and only minutes left to play Westbury turned chances into goals and completed their late come back with another two to finish 4-2 winners. Martin Little (2), Ryan Shergold and Darrell Maxwell scored for Westbury.
Under 14s Red Division
LEADERS Trowbridge Town Youth remain unbeaten with their fifth win out of five following their home victory against Pewsey Vale.
Trowbridge were in control throughout the match, turning most of their chances into the back of the net to finish 9-1 victors. Nick Gerrish (5), Michael Butlin, Daniel King, Steve Morris and Darren Barnes scored for Trowbridge, with Tony Hurkett replying for Pewsey.
Chippenham Town Youth remain two points behind the leaders but move up into second place following their 7-2 home win against Frome Collegians. Goncarlo Barata (5), Shane Mitchell and James Ford scored for Chippenham, with Simon Angell scoring both goals for Frome.
Under 15s Blue Division
CROFT Juniors moved back into first place following their home win against local rivals Robins FC.
On a very sticky pitch, Croft led 2-0 at half-time through Harris and Stanley. Croft turned on the style in the second half, scoring a further seven goals to finish 9-0 victors. Other goals came from Page (2), Coward, Cole, Harris and a further two for Stanley to complete his hat-trick.
Under 15s Red Division
AMESBURY Juniors moved up from third to first in the table following their home game against Pewsey Vale.
Pewsey defended well in the first half, holding the leaders to a 0-0 score line at the break. Amesbury got their game together in the second half, taking a lot more chances and turning them into a 3-1 final scoreline.
Shane Price, Nick Jones and Luke Harold scored for Amesbury, with S Blay replying for Pewsey.
Under 17s Blue Division
MALMESBURY Youth notched up their third draw so far this season in their home game against Bath City.
Neither side could make the difference in the first half, but Billings found the target for Bath early in the second half to give his side a narrow lead.
Malmesbury got back on level terms with just five minutes to go when an overhead kick was cleared off the line for David Pope to cleanly strike home from the edge of the box.
Under 17s Red Division
CORSHAM Boys found themselves 2-0 down at the break against visitors Marlborough Town, with goals from Tom Payne and Robbie Stroud.
Corsham got back on level terms with two fine strikes from Douglas Bond and Jamie James, but Marlborough clinched the game when Payne scored his second in the dying minutes to give the visitors the final say with a 3-2 final score.
In a mid-table clash Aldbourne Juniors found themselves in an end-to-end battle with home side Calne Town Youth, with Calne trying to reduce the three points deficit between the two.
The game turned into a 'six-pointer' with Aldbourne taking the honours with a 4-2 final score. Andy Sandel scored both goals for Calne.
