A TROWBRIDGE man who slammed a door on a police officer's hand appeared in court last Thursday.
Darren Gore, 20, of West Street, Trowbridge, pleaded guilty to assaulting WPC Tamara Campe at North West Wiltshire Magistrates' Court in Trowbridge.
The court heard that police had been called to an address in West Street after reports of a domestic disturbance.
Cedric Allen, prosecuting, said after speaking to Gore's girlfriend, who had shown signs of being assaulted, the police went to another address in West Street where they spotted Gore through the front window.
He said when police tried to arrest Gore, he swore at them and tried to slam the door.
Mr Allen said: "He attempted to slam the door and trapped the officer's hand between the door and the frame as she attempted to arrest him.
"They were able to push the door and the lady managed to remove her arm. This knocked Gore backwards and he was still very aggressive.
John Elliott, defending, said Gore was extremely distraught after the incident, which happened after a night of drinking.
He said: "He was very concerned after discovering he had injured the police officer."
Magistrates adjourned the case until December 14 for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.
Gore was released on unconditional bail.
