A COMMUNITY art project could breathe life into Melksham.
Following in Corsham's footsteps Melksham Town Development group will look at community art as a permanent fixture in the town.
Corsham artist Andrea Garrihy created a selection of life-sized human figures which went on show in the town centre.
Melksham town councillor Adrienne Westbrook said community art was vibrant and exciting and was something the town should seriously consider.
Because of the town's connection with the milking industry suggestions made at the town council's meeting on Monday included a herd of fibreglass cows located near to Countrywide Farmers or Western Way.
The town development committee would also look at the possibility of company sponsorship.
Cllr Sarah Cardy said: "Community art certainly makes an impact. This is something we should consider."
Spending money on community art was questioned by the mayor of Melksham, Vic Oakman.
"I am not against art, but if it is going to cost money then I am sure there are other places it could be spent," he said.
The town council agreed to hand the project over to the town development group.
