THROUGH your columns could the Lions Club gratefully acknowledge the support it received at the recent charity auction.

Please could the club also acknowledge the support of the many people who attended and made bids at the auction, which raised £2,000 for the Lions Club funds.

MIKE BRACEY,

Trowbridge Lions Club.

THANK you for your story in the Wiltshire Times, November 17, headed Mill plan could include 130 homes. There was just one misprint in it. It read: More than 700 people visited the firm's exhibition last week and 75 said they like the new ideas. It should have read 75 per cent like the new ideas. A small mistake, but a very important one.

We hope people will come to our final exhibition before we lodge our planning application for the site. It will be at the Riverside Inn, today and tomorrow (December 1 & 2).

NIGEL AGG,

Planning Director,

Taywood Homes.

MAY we, via your publication, express our sincere thanks for the generous response to our collection on Friday November 17 on behalf of Children In Need. The wonderful sum of £2,155.05 was collected, making all of the hard work very worthwhile.

CD ROSEWARN,

Trowbridge Ambulance Station,

Hilperton Road,

Trowbridge.

THROUGH the courtesy of your paper I would like to thank members of the public who came to my assistance after having witnessed me fall to the ground as I had caught my shoe in a loose paving stone outside the Abbey National Bank in Trowbridge on Wednesday afternoon (November 15).

Also to thank the two members of the bank staff for their concern and hospitality.

It is very gratifying to know people are so kind and considerate to other when it is most needed.
