Dancers from Swindon will be auditioning on Sunday for a part in The English Youth Ballet's The Nutcracker.
Around 100 youngsters have already applied but there are very few boys.
Organisers are surprised more boys haven't come forward, particularly following the success of the current movie Billy Elliot, which is about a young male ballet dancer.
There is still time because dancers aged between eight and 18 can turn up on the day from 1.30pm to 5pm.
Swindon's Daniel Piggott-Stewart from the Estelle School of Dancing is one of the few boys that have applied.
Daniel, 10, from Poplar Avenue, Pinehurst, recently swam for the Swindon Dol-phins. He says he would like to be the next Billy Elliot and is urging other boys to take part in the auditions.
The Nutcracker will be performed at the venue on April 27 and 28, 2001.
The guest dancers and choreographers will be Ursula Hageli and Richard Slaughter.
Any dancer interested in auditioning should either telephone 020 86912806 or turn up at the Wyvern from 1.30pm to 5pm on Sunday.
