POLICE are looking for a man after he approached a boy and girl in Wootton Bassett.
The boy, described by police as a youth, was on Swindon Road, near Longleaze, when a dirty white Citroen Diesel approached. The car was travelling from Coped Hall Roundabout towards the town centre.
A police spokesman said the driver, in his early thirties, got out and approached the child but returned to his car and drove off after the boy shouted.
Shortly afterwards a man fitting the same description approached a girl near a Shell garage, but she ran away, passing the traffic lights in High Street and through an alleyway towards The Rosary.
The man is white, 6ft tall, slim, and with short, receding hair and a protruding jaw.
He wore a mustard-coloured shirt, a blue tie, black trousers and black shoes.
The young people were approached on Friday afternoon and the police were called at 3.54pm.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward, including the girl, who is yet to be identified.
