Skurrays Wiltshire League: There was yet another afternoon at home for most of the Wiltshire League's footballers as game after game was postponed due to waterlogged grounds, just seven matches surviving.

In the Premier Division Stratton Crosslink's Rick Casey was the man of the match in their 4-1 win over Pewsey Vale Reserves, scoring twice and providing the crosses for the other two.

Crosslink took an early lead with a good solo run by Casey shrugging off a couple of defenders to open the scoring. He added a second shortly after using the wind to bend an in-swinging corner past a bemused Pewsey defence.

The visitors kept plugging away and pulled a goal back through Paul McLoughlin.

After the break Pewsey had the home side defending desperately as they looked for an equaliser but a break by the home side saw Casey cross for Neil Johnson to add a third and another Casey cross minutes later was scrambled over the line again by Johnson for a fourth.

Shrewton United moved to within a couple of points of league leaders Devizes Town Reserves after beating Corsham Town Reserves by seven goals to one.

United were a goal up after just two minutes when a Shaun Collins effort hit the post and Dean Foot followed up to knock the ball into the net. Jessie Walters then added a second for the home side with an unstoppable shot from the right hand edge of the box. Shaun Collins then added a third after the keeper had failed to hold a shot from Foot and Lee Corbin added a fourth just before the break.

The second half belonged to Shrewton's prolific scorer Dean Foot who added three more goals to bring his match total to four. Corsham pulled a goal back when the Shrewton keeper's attempt at clearance struck a Corsham forward and rebounded into the net.

Without a game for three weeks Wroughton looked a shade rusty against visitors Warminster Town Reserves. Neither side were at home on the muddy surface and in a scrappy game Warminster managed to grab the only goal of the game ten minutes from time through John Hargreaves.

Honours remained even at Aldbourne where visitors Westbury United shared the points with the home side in a one all draw. Paul Riley gave Westbury the lead after ten minutes, the home side waiting until two minutes from time before equalising. Man of the match was Aldbourne keeper Matt Robinson who kept his side in the game with some excellent stops.

Only one game was played in the Intermediate Division, league leaders Burmah Castrol pulling 11 points clear at the top after beating Mitel by three goals to nil.

Burmah took the lead on the half hour after a neat back heel by Gary Donnelly set up Andy Lydiard. After the break good work by Nick Kemmett put Tom Mawson through to score from the edge of the box and Andy Lydiard rounded the Mitel keeper to add a third. Mitel never gave us trying to get back into the game and Corey Higham saved a couple of good efforts from the Mitel forwards.

In Junior Division Two a long distance free kick by Kevin Wilkinson opened the scoring for Wanborough United Reserves at Marshfield, Carl Savoury and Neil Brimson adding further goals in United's 3-0 victory.

Dunbar Westside Reserves gained a 6-0 away win over Purton A, Geoff Swatton (2), Alex Whitehall, Mike Wilson, Craig Tomkin and an own goal doing the damage.
