MOTORCYCLISTS proved their hearts to be as soft as their leathers when they delivered toys to sick children.
Saturday saw the eighth annual toy run to the children's ward at Princess Margaret Hospital by the Pinkertons Motorcycle Club.
More than 50 members assembled at a truck-stop in Stratton St Margaret to escort a HGV loaded with toys and goodies.
They had been bought with donations from local companies including the Early Learning Centre, Anchor Foods and Exel Logistics, who also loaned the lorry.
After a noon departure the convoy arrived at the hospital in Okus Road at 12.45pm to a cheer from waiting staff.
They then handed out the toys to excited children on Thames Ward.
Club member Alan Hunt said: "It was excellent. Santa arrived on a trike and the children were absolutely enthralled."
Senior play specialist at PMH Liz Slater said: "It's an absolutely brilliant gesture from the motorcyclists."
